Uplifting luxury. Crafted from 100% silk crepe de chine, the Beija-Flor Silk Maxi from Hayley Menzies takes its name from the Brazilian Portuguese word for hummingbird. The magical hummingbird print is inspired by the Costa Rican rainforest, elaborated with signature Hayley Menzies suns and moons. Hayley commissioned her father, John Menzies, to create watercolour paintings of the birds that captivated her attention in Costa Rica. These paintings became part of the print, which took 2 weeks for our London team to illustrate. Handwritten lyrics from Duran Duran’s ‘Rio’, the namesake for the SS22 collection, are also laced throughout. A v-neckline, fitted wide waistband and oversized turn-up sleeves complete this tropical party piece.
